Sinclare Smith

President

Meet our President Sinclare Smith! Sinclare is a junior from Northville, MI studying International Relations! “I am a junior from Northville, Michigan studying International Relations. I chose to study International Relations because I love learning about international and domestic politics, economics, and security. I knew I wanted to be the President of Alpha Xi Delta because this chapter has given me so much and I wanted to give back to it. The most special part of AXiD is the genuine life long friendships it has given me, and I want to continue to represent that in everything I do. My fellow executive board members have made being in this position so fun and I am so proud to represent such an amazing and genuine sisterhood! On campus I also do Literacy Crops and Model UN. I’ve been doing Model UN through Syracuse for over a year and it has completely enriched my experience on campus as well as my understanding of the global legal framework. I love doing Model UN because it’s a way to apply what I learn every day in my major to real-life global issues. Also, it fosters a great relationship between students that have similar interests as me! This summer I’ll be abroad for an international think tank in Brussels, Belgium. I’m super excited to apply everything I’ve learned through Model UN about global diplomacy to this position!” - Sinclare Smith, mc'20

Caroline Amodeo

Chapter Life VP

Meet our Chapter Life VP Caroline Amodeo! Caroline is a junior from Slingerlands, NY studying Public Health! “Hi! My name is Caroline and I am a junior from Slingerlands, NY studying Public Health. I have always been interested in health and wellness, more specifically how it effects law, policy, and business around the world. I wrote off Syracuse pretty early in my college search because my older sister Catherine went here and I wanted to create my own path. Reluctantly, I agreed to tour and the minute I stepped on campus I knew it was the place for me. First semester freshman year came and went, and I only knew a handful of people. I decided to go through recruitment to find the bonds I had with my two sisters growing up. The overwhelming feeling of home I felt when stepping into Alpha Xi Delta was so comforting. My AXiD sisters inspire me everyday and are the reason I will look back at my years in this house so fondly. I wanted to be Chapter Life VP to give back for everything the chapter has given me. I’m honored to represent this house and all of the amazing women I get to call friends. Club 125 you have my heart ?” - Caroline Amodeo, mc ’20

I’m Heather and I’m a junior from West Hartford, CT with a triple major in Finance, Supply Chain and Management! I chose to to go into finance and supply chain because I love to apply math to the real world, especially in the global crisis that we’re in. I have a passion for sustainability, and when I graduate I want to use my business knowledge to work and make global supply chains greener and more eco-friendly. I wanted to be the FOVP to be able to apply my classroom skills and help manage the chapter I love so deeply. I’m so glad I get the experience of working with the incredible members of our executive board to help lead those who have given me so much. Everyday, I am inspired by the women in this house and have found nothing but love behind the blue door. I wouldn’t be the person I am today if it weren’t for the supportive, and all around amazing, women of Alpha Xi Delta. This chapter has given me more than I could ever ask for and I’m forever grateful for the best friends that I’ve made. Thank you to my roommates, thank you to my fam, and most importantly, thank you to you all?” - Heather Flannery, mc ’20

Sydney Tracewell

Communications VP

Meet our Communications VP, Sydney Tracewell! Sydney is a junior from Seattle, WA studying Policy Studies! “Hi! My name is Sydney and I am a junior from Seattle, Washington majoring in Policy Studies. Growing up, I was always interested in art and pursuing things that made me feel creative. My parents were constantly enrolling me in classes and clubs that had an artistic focus—like jewelry making, fashion design, or photography. Throughout high school, I put a bigger emphasis on getting involved and taking on leadership positions. I also devoted time learning how to implement creativity into these positions. My involvement in Yearbook was definitely the foundation of my interest in graphic design and photo/video editing. When I first came to Syracuse, I didn’t know a single person—which was a big change coming from a small high school. Going through rush and later taking on leadership positions within AXiD has played a huge part in making Syracuse feel like a second home. The people I have met through this chapter have bettered my life in so many ways & being able to represent the house is an honor. Becoming the Communications VP was always something I strived to accomplish because it enables me to combine all my interests into one! I love that I am able to represent our house alongside the amazing members of exec, while also incorporating art & design. I feel fortunate to have opportunities that allow me to express creativity and share my ideas with others.” - Sydney Tracewell, mc ‘20

Carlin Hanley

Membership VP

Meet our Membership VP, Carlin Hanley! Carlin is a junior from Duxbury, MA studying Marketing and Public Relations! “I am a junior from Duxbury, MA majoring in Marketing and Public Relations! Through my major, I am also involved in Hill Communications. I have an internship on the content team of an app that helps people with food allergies find safe food products, restaurants, and more. I have food allergies myself so it’s been really exciting to be part of a team that is doing work relevant to my life. Part of the reason I wanted to go through recruitment is because I had made a lot of friends through my classes but not a lot of friends outside of that. AXiD introduced me to such a variety of amazing people from all different backgrounds. I wanted to become Membership VP so that I could help recruit girls who can be the next member class of people who have the ability to make AXiD feel like a second home for everyone in it. I’m so thankful that I have the opportunity to give back to a house that has given me so much over the last three years, including the best friends and the most amazing fam. I can’t wait for the year ahead!” - Carlin Hanley, mc ‘20

Kelly Johnson

Philanthropy VP

Meet our Philanthropy VP, Kelly Johnson! Kelly is a junior from Holden, MA studying History and Citizenship and Civic Engagement! “Hi! My name is Kelly and I’m a junior from Holden, Massachusetts studying History and Citizenship and Civic Engagement in Maxwell! Outside of AXiD, I’ve been involved in OttoTHON since freshman year. This year I had the opportunity to serve as the internal events and operations chair where I got to work alongside several other incredible Alpha Xi Delta women on the OttoTHON executive board. Service is a value my parents instilled in me at an early age, and the opportunity to pursue philanthropy is a big reason I chose to go through recruitment freshman year. To this day @caley_mckenney claims she knew when she met me philanthropy round of recruitment that I was meant to serve as VP of Philanthropy. I cried watching the video that day because it was clear that this was a house where women cared about the world around them. Beyond our own philanthropy efforts with the Kindly Hearts Campaign, I have had the pleasure of watching these women thrive in organizations like Kesem, the Green Bandana Project, OttoTHON, Alpha Phi Omega, and more. I am beyond thankful I get to support them in these efforts. I knew almost no one when I came to Syracuse, and I cannot understate the impact joining AXiD has had on my life at school. The support these women have given me at my highest and lowest points is something I will cherish for years to come.” - Kelly Johnson, mc ‘20

Samantha Meir

Membership Development VP

Meet our Membership Development VP, Samantha Meir Samantha is a sophomore from Weston, CT studying Television, Radio, and Film! “Hey! My name is Samantha Meir and I am a sophomore from Weston, CT. I am majoring in Television, Radio, and Film in the Newhouse school and I also have a minor in Creative Writing! I have always loved film and media and how it brings people together. I am focusing my studies around becoming a producer as well as a content developer in the entertainment industry. Growing up, I did theater and dance for as long as I can remember. The arts have always been so important to me and I knew that coming to Syracuse, I wanted to learn all about how to create it from a creative and business standpoint. At Syracuse, I have been involved in DanceWorks and, this past March, I was a choreographer for our show. When I came to Syracuse, I knew I wanted to go through recruitment. Growing up doing dance and competing, I have always had a team surrounding me. I love being a part of something bigger than myself and finding others that hold similar values as I do. Joining Alpha Xi Delta has been the best decision I could have made at Syracuse. The friends I have made have allowed the campus to feel like home and have showed me what true sisterhood is supposed to be. That being said, I couldn’t get enough of our sisterhood and come my sophomore year, I knew I wanted to be a part of maintaining and growing it even more. I wanted to be Member Development VP just for that reason. I love bringing people together, and this house has something so special about how close all the women are. I couldn’t be more thankful to have been given this position and am so happy to be able to help emphasize what all of the women in Alpha Xi Delta uphold: true sisterhood.” - Samantha Meir, mc'21

Andrea Seroczynski

Panhel VP

Meet our Panhel VP, Andrea Seroczynski Andrea is a sophomore from South Bend, IN studying Political Science and History! “Hi! My name is Andrea and I am a sophomore from South Bend, IN majoring in Political Science and History. My favorite spot in my hometown is The History Museum in South Bend (I know, incredibly nerdy). From a young age, I was always reading and writing to fill my time. I volunteered on my first campaign in high school and knew that I wanted to enter the political field in some area. Right now, my dream is for you all to see me on the Supreme Court or representing you in office. I did not know a single person when I arrived at Syracuse, and I really wanted to get involved on campus. Around campus you can find me giving tours, fundraising for OttoTHON, working at Barnes, or hosting events for the Honors LLC in Sadler as an RA! I can say with pride that I find so much fulfillment from the women of Alpha Xi Delta. I took the chance on rushing and I am eternally grateful I did. Alpha Xi Delta embodies everything I hope to have as a woman: loyalty, leadership, love and laughter. The women behind the blue door are fierce, ambitious, kind, and genuine. They have pushed me to indulge myself in the Syracuse community and we have all supported each other in countless endeavors. I am grateful that I get to pursue my passions of community and teamwork in this position. Thank you all for encouraging me in this role of leadership!!” - Andrea Seroczynski, mc '21
